Encryption scheduling for remote state estimation under an operation constraint

In remote state estimation, data transmitted by a sensor through wireless communication channel may be overheard an eavesdropper. One possible way to avoid information leakage is encrypt the all time. However, this impose extra operation energy burden on sensor. paper, we investigate optimal encryption scheduling in order protect privacy and ensure estimation accuracy under constraint. Specifically, computes its local estimate then quantizes it using non-subtractively dithered quantizer. Before each transmission, determines whether encrypting or not strike balance between accuracy. As about eavesdropper unknown estimator, introduce concept of eavesdropper-invariant schedules derive associated structural results. addition, propose practical algorithm that compares finite number points obtain ε-optimal schedule. Numerical examples are provided illustrate performance benefits proposed methods.
